Nibbling News -- September 2008
This month we return to the cuisine of Spain
and enjoy the coastal region of Galicia!

 The Heat is Back!
And we're keeping the flavors sizzling!

Did you miss us pouring reserve wines like the Pisoni ’04 or ’83 Phelps Insignia at last week’s Art & Wine Festival in Lafayette?

Make it up right here in Pleasant Hill at the PH Art Jazz & Wine Festival, October 4th & 5th, where we’ll pull out some other gems

All month we’ve been brightening your palettes with the fresh summer flavors of Galicia and “Green Spain.” But TONIGHT, you can get it all with our 4th annual Spanish theme night:
“An Evening in Santiago de Compostela”

You don’t have to make the historic pilgramage across northern Spain to get the Galician classic like Pimientos de Padron, Empanadas Gallegos, & Viadas(Galician sea scallops). Come by and wash down our traditional Spanish tapas with a flight of effervescent Galician sidra, bright aromatic Albarinos or spicy, brooding Tempranillos.

Thursday, September 24th

Seating from 5:00pm to 9:30pm

 Come see us outside!

We invite all of you to come see us at the Ferry Building on October 5th, when we’re paired with Happy Quail Farms to produce hors d’oeuvres along with 20 other Bay Area chefs for CUESA’s 6th Annual Sunday Supper, a huge benefit for sustainable cuisine in the Bay Area. David at Happy Quail grows some of the most flavorful produce in the Bay Area, and if you’ve eaten here over the last few months, you’ve probably eaten some of his fantastic Pimientos de Padron, sweet & savory piquillos, earthy & deep Andean squash & brilliantly flavored rhubarb. We’re really looking forward to this partnership, and truly hope we’ll see you there!

Leaving European flavors in the dust
we’ll head next into the high plateau of northern India & eastern Pakistan for our Punjab theme in the month of October. This region, home to such modern Indian staples as ghee, paneer & the ubiquitis tandoor oven, will be highlighted here at Nibblers with such dishes as housemade naan & parathas, Chicken makhani, lamb biryani & Rogan Josh
